Swiss Guns Down Flying Fortress
(Rec. 11 a.m.) LONDON, October 1. Swiss anti-aii'craft guns shot down an American Flying Fortress today when a group of Fortresses fought a battle against German fighters over Sv/iss territory, states a Swiss communique.
Other planes crashed as a result of the air battle. Bombs were dropped on various parts of east Switzerland causing damage.
