American Honours For Three N.Z. Airmen
WASHINGTON, Oct. 1
The Navy Department has announced that an Air Medal has been awarded to Flight-Lieutenants R. S. Duncan and D. A. Grieg arid FlightSergeant R. A. Martin, of the R.NJZ.-A-F. The awards were made on behalf of President Roosevelt and the recipients were* cited for meritorious achievement in action against the Japanese in the Solomons. Each aviator shot do\yn a Zero and participated in numerous bombing missions and patrols, task* force covers and strafing attacks, states the citations, and the fliers’ skilful airmanship and determined fighting spirit contributed materially to the success of vital missions. ■ 'A' . h'A ■ ’Y
