Mangonui Show To Be Held This Season
(Special) KAITAIA. This Day. Expressing gratification at the success of the last venture, the chairman (Mr. W. Metcalfe), at the annual meeting of the Kaitaia A. & P. Society, expressed the opinion that, with the easing of the war situation, the show should be continued with. The balance sheet showed a sound position.
By resolution, Mr. W. H. Farrimond was thanked for assisting during the illness of the secretary.
Mr. Metcalfe praised the Kaitaia Volunteer Fire Brigade for its promptitude and efficiency in quelling the recent fire in the A. & P. Hall. Officers elected were: President: Mr. H. M. Thompson; patron: Mr. A. W. Masters: vice-presi-dent: Mr. T. Coulter: general committee: The same as last year with • the exception of Messrs. J. W. Hoskin and Mr. A. McL. Wright, who asked to be relieved of the duty, and with the addition of Messrs. K. Lewis, F. Richter, W. Metcalfe and Henderson. Mr. L. G. Thompson was re-ap-pointed auditor.
Members of the executive serving in the forces overseas are to be honorary member’s of the executive. The sub-committee is to be the same as; last year with the exception of Mr. D. Jameson, who asked to be relieved, and with the addition of the vicepresident and Messrs, E. McDonald, W. Metcalfe and Henderson. It was decided that any persons wishing to uncover the cricket pitch for use must first deposit the sum of £5 which would be returnable on the satisfactory subsequent re-covering of the pitch. A recommendation was made to the executive to request a "camper who has been cutting up the football field with a heavy vehicle, to keep to the road or else move from the camping ground. A resolution was unanimously carried thanking . all donors of .prize money and materials for the last show.
