Oppose Return Of Married Furlough Men
(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. " Making a strong plea for preservation of family life, Mr. Ken Aekins, at a meeting of the executive of the Returned Services Association last night, urged that the association should make immediate representations through Dominion headquarters that married men on furlough should not be returned to duty, but should he replaced by men drawn from thousands of single Grade A men who had not yet been on service.
The president (Mr. A. P. Postlewaite) stated that neither the Minister for Defence nor the Government had stated what was to be done with men when the furlough expired. > It' was decided to send an urgent telegram of protest against married men being sent back without being given an opprtunity of remaining in New Zealand, and to follow this up with representations to headquarters.
