Splendid Fun With Circle Drawings
Coin-drawing was good fun, wasn't it, Northlanders? Judging by the; number of. entries, the competition appealed, and some excellent drawings were made, using a penny, a shilling, a sixpence and a threepence. Margaret and Glenisc Shipman. of 19 Hospital Road, Whangarei. with drawings of a man pushing a snowball, and ol' Mickey Mouse out walking, were awarded first of the half-crown prizes, the second half-crown going to G. Church, GVicrahi, for a picture of a man riding a bicycle. Certificates of merit were awarded as follows: Two points to Terence Jaractt (Victoria Valley). Billy Thompson (Victoria Valley). Jessie and Lucie Snelgar (Kioreroa). One point to Marie Forsyth (Tanckaha), Doreen Buckley (Whangarei), Frank Cocurullo (Otaika Road, Whangarei), Marjorie Muir (Kawakawa), Bemice Ridgley (Whangarei), Eunice Alexander (Titoki).
