(Rec. 11.3 C a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 25 •*I believe that ll the present tyno of British and American round-the-clock bombing operations can be continued with a reasonable rise in tempo, the economic structure of Naz; Germany is going to fail by the end of Hie year," declared the Commanding General of the United States Army Air Transport (Major-General Harold George), who is visiting Britain. He added: "I mean by ‘failure’ that it would bo unable to continue to function at the degree that is essential to support a major war. lam making this statement with a reasonable: appreciation of the weather and a reasonable knowledge of our aircraft building'. “It is obvious that the Nazis realise the terrific implications of the bombing operations now being conducted from England against them. They have concentrated over CO per cent of their entire fighter force in the area facing England. “A nation to wage war must possess two vital factors —a will to fight, and means with which to fight. The first of these factors is being disintegrated by the magnificently-executed operations ot Royal Air Force Bomber Command and the second is the objective of the Eighth Air Force Bomber Command. It is obvious that each force definitely complements the other."
