WELLINGTON, This Day. ■ From September 1 an airgraph service will be available for mesages addressed to civilians and members of British and Allied forces in Kenya, Tanganyika, Uganda, Nyasaland, Zanzibar, Northern Rhodesia, Soul hern Rhodesia. Union of South Africa, Mauritius and Madagascar, said the Postmaster-General (Mr Webb) last night. He added that airgraph service from the countries mentioned above to New Zealand would also be introduced on September 1. be a reduced postage rate for heavier Xmas parcels for the armed forces in the Middie East. Great Britain, Canada and elsewhere. Rates for Christmas postings would be: For parcels not exceeding three pounds in weight. 1/-; parcels between Ulbs and 11 lbs, 2/-. This concession, which is in respect of Christmas postings only, would apply for the following periods: United Kingdom, Middle East, Africa. India, etc., from September 1 to 30; Canada, and ether parts of North and South America and West Indies. October 1 tc 31; Australia, Fiji, and Pacific Islands. October 15 to November 15. It was desirable that Christmas parcels for the Middle East should be posted as early as possible during September.
