Successful Ingleside At Kaitaia
The monthly Ingleside of the Kaitaia Scottish Society, held on Saturday, was, as usual, a great success. The programme was in the hands of Mrs. E. White and Mr. E. Panther, of Victoria Valiev. Among those who entertained were Mesdames Rule and Jones (the former with a solo, and both in n vocal duct), and L.A.C. Hildreth, the possessor of a fine baritone voice, who sane one of his own compositions tc his own accompaniment. Mr. Cowie led the community singing. Caroline Torrie. Althea Goodhue and Ellen Matthews danced national dances, and the girls danced a Highland reel. The Monte Carlo was won by Mrs. C. Panther, partnered by A.C. Fleming. Dance music was played by Mesdames Rule and Horsley, Miss K. Parker, Mr. E. Hansen and L.A.C. Hildreth. Two donations toward patriotic funds are being made by the Scottish society. Frofits from the installation evening, together with a contribution from the society’s funds, will be included in a sum of £lO for the quota, and £4/10/- is t.o be donated for soldiers' parcels, with a further £-1/10/- next quarter.
