Ten Gallons Of Petrol Monthly For Leave Men
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. This Day. The Minister for Supply (Mr. Sullivan) stated today that it had become apparent from the number of petrol applications from men on furlough from the Middle East, that the men were experiencing difficulties in travelling, necessitated by visits to relatives and friends. Consequently it had been decided to instruct all local oil fuel controllers to make available a further 10 gallons per month for personal use of a man on furlough on application.
