School Buildings After Hornes, Hospitals
(P.A.) ..WELLINGTON. This Day. "Tin.- Minister's policy is very simple. It is to build every school the Building Controller can furnish means to build." stated the Minister for Education (Mr. Mason) when lie was asked during discussion on the Education Vote to state his policy in regard to schools. The Minister for Finance (Mr. Nash) said that at the present time erection of hospitals came first in the building programme and then next and together were houses and schools. It was just a matter of determining priorities, having regal’d to limited labour and materials available. The Supplementary Estimates were passed by 11.45. The Appropriation Bill, providing for expenditure of £00,000,000, was passed without discussion. Mr. Fraser said that lie did not think it would be fair at such a late hour to proceed with the second reading of the I.C. and A. Amendment Bill, and it was decided to adjourn at midnight until 2.30 today.
