Ohaeawai-Kaikohe Stock Sale
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their monthly sales at Oiieawai and Kaikoho. At Ohacawai a small yarding came forward and was disposed of at recent market rates. Quotations: Fat cows and heifers. £6/14/- to £lO/8/-; fat. bullocks, to £l2/2/6; Shorthorn store cows, in store condition, to £4/12/6; rising two-year Hereford steers, low conditioned, £5 to £5/16/-; dairy cows, close to profit, £7/5/to £B/5/-; others. £4 to £6/15/-; yearling Jersey heifers, to £3/12/6. At Kaikoho a larger yarding was penned and sold freely at higher values. No beef cattle came forward. The annual draft of the Ngatitara Estate came forward, the cattle looking well considering the dry autumn. Quotations: Rising two-year Hereford steers, £5/18/- to £6/2/6; Herolord and Shot thorn-cross cows, oul of condition, £3/10/- to £4/4/-; three-year P.A. heifers sold at £4/18/-. Pigs were yarded in larger numbers than usual. Small stores, 16/6 to 18/-; larger, 34/6 to £2/4/-. Mixed aged ewes, to 16/1; mixed sex hoggets, to 16/10.
