Hoare Meets Franco
(8.0. W. 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Aug. 22. Sir Samuel Honre’s interview with General Franco and Jordana on Friday lasted two hours, says the Madrid correspondent of the Associated Press. British sources said that matters oi interest to both parties have been reviewed. The interview was the first between Sir Samuel Hoare and General Franco for more than a year. Sir Samuel Hoare is going to England next week. A British news agency message from Madrid says that on return after the meeting yesterday with General Franco and the Foreign Minister (Count Jordanai, Sir Samuel Hoare said that as he was leaving shortly for London to confer with the Government he naturally wanted to see the head of the Spanish Staie before leaving. Every courtesy had been extended to him during the journey.
