Queen St. Safefereaker
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. During the week-end an expert safebreaker who gained entrance to the iarge premises of Frank Wiseman Ltd. Queen Street City, entered the strongroom. blew open the safe and decamped with £l5B in cash. Although the burglary occurred shcfrtly before midnight on Saturday, discovery was not made until members of the staff entered the office this morning. They found the strongroom door wide open and the door of the safe blown off. Cash boxs were empty and a number of cheques in the safe were scattered about the floor as also were portions of the safe door. It is thought that the burglar must have concetiled himself in the building before it closed at mid-day on Saturady. After blowing the safe he had only to walk through a narrow right of way which opens on to High Street and close the door behind him. An explosion was heard by a caretaker at 11.30 p.m. on Saturday night.
