Laval Orders Purge
ißec. 1 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 22. Laval has ordered ihe arrest of numerous Vichy Government officials in Paris including a number of Foreign Ministry officials also several army officers, says the Madrid correspondent of the ’’Daily Telegraph." Those arrested are alleged to have changed their political attitude in view of the radical change in the Allied military situation. They are charged with ‘’maintaining dangerous contact with powers regarded as France’s enemies.”
