Amplification of the announcement recently made that the increased scale of mufti allowance had been adopted on a retrospective basis, and that service beyond and within New Zealand would qualify and ex-serviceman or woman for pavment,- was made by the Minister for Defence tMr Jones) today. Applications, he said, should be made on forms availaide for the purpose at all post offices and army offices throughout New Zealand on and after July 20. These must lie' forwarded to the Director of Base iteeords. Wellington, for verification and payment would Id made as soon as possible.
