Owhiwa Red Cross
On June 26 the. Owhiwa School gave a concert and sale of work for the New Zealand Red Cross Society. This school of nine pupils raised the magnificent sum of £l3/1/6 by their effort. The proceedings opened with a concert by the children, and dances and action songs were excellently performed. A competition which followed was won by Mesdames Williams and Squires. Two raffles, a duck, won by Mrs. Prouse, and a cake, won by Mrs. Powell, were resold and fetched a high price. Afternoon tea was served to the large audience, to bring a successful and pleasant afternoon to a close.
