Dwyer, inr. Messrs Standring and Laverick supplied good music for dancing, and Mr. Jack Jones was M.C. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss E. Harvey, of Whangarei, and Corporal Phillis. Recent guests of Mrs. Zimmer were her sister. Miss Wynne Rooke, who is on the nursing staff of Whakatane Hospital, her brother, Mr. M. Rooke, of Morrinsville, and Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Rooke, of Te Poi. North, who was recently home on leave, is now attached to the hospital staff of a military camp. Trooper W. Jeffs, in an airgraph letter from the Middle East to his mother, Mrs. A. Drummond, stated that he was well and had just broadcast a message in the Eovs Overseas session.
