Soldier Killed; Four Injured
(P.A.) ASHBURTON. This Day. One soldier was killed and four others injured when a truck in which they were travelling overturned on Greenstreed Road, near Ashburton, yesterday. Killed Private Albeit Ernest King. 2C, Dunedin. Injured Lance-Corporal Walter Russell Fox. 20, Dunedin, head injuries and abrasions. Private Andrew Roger Harvey. 28, Gore, fractured thigh and general injuries. Two others were treated as out-patients. King died before admission to hospital. The truck contained seven men. It got cut of control in loose gravel and overturned.
