Walter Wakelin, Ltd., report having held their usual monthly sale at Maungatapere last Monday, when good entries of both cattle and sheep were submitted to a large attendance of buyers. Quotations: Good quality springing Jersey heifers, £5/10/- to £7; springing cows, £5 to £7: extra choice yearling Jersey heifers, to £5/10/-; cows and calves, £4/15/- to £O/5/-; boner cows, £2/10/- to £3/13/-; fat Jersey cows, £5/2/0 to £0; service bulls, to £5/12/G; boner bulls, £4/10/- to £7. A line of two-tooth wethers realised £l/1/0, while a line of f.in. ewes with lambs at foot realised £l/10/- per pair. Whaltapara Sale.—The same firm conducted the fortnightly sale at Whakapnra on Tuesday, when a large entry of cattle was submitted to a representative attendance of buyers from surrounding districts. Included in the offering was, an entry of 150 good quality Hereford steers on account of Mr. R. J. Hailes. The demand for these cattle was keen, the yearlings realising from £6/10/- to £6/16/-, while a line of 40 2Vo-year steers were passed in at £B/13/-.
