Why France Was Occupied
STOCKHOLM, December 17.
The “Aftonbladets" correspondent, formerly in Berlin, states that when Hitler. Ciano and Laval held a conference at Munich on November 10. Hitler demanded that France declare, iwar on the Allies and the incorpforatin of Alsace Lorraine within Germany, Laval agreed.
Ciano' demanded Nice, Corsica, Tunisia and control of the transSaharan railway. "Laval refused, whereupon Hitler broke off negotiations and began occupation of the whole of France.
