Chittagong Bombed
(Rec. 10 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 16. Berlin radio quotes a Tokio report that Japanese forces contacted General Wavell’s troops at three unspecified points on the Indo-Burmese border. A joint communiciue from India states that on the morning of December 15 two formations of Japanese bombers, escorted by fighters, made an attack on the Chittagong area. The damage caused was negligible. There are no reports of bombs falling in the town. Casualties are reoorted to have been extremely light. Royal Air Force fighters intercepted the raiders and destroyed three of them, as well as damaging several others. None of our aircraft is missing.
Shortly after dark vesterdav a small number of enemy bombers made a further attack in the same area. No damage or casualties are reported.
