Guadalcanar Warfare

A Navy communique states (hat United States patrols at Guadalcanar on December 13 destroyed two Japanese machine-gun positions and killed both gun crews. United States bombers on December 14 attacked an enemy airfield at Bum, Bougainville. No enemy aircraft were encountered, no ack-ack opposition was met. Results were not reported. At: noon on December 15 a striking force of Marine Corps and dive bombers from Guadalcanar attacked Japanese installations at Munda. No enemy resistance was met and results were not observed.
