Whangaroa Hospital Board
The monthly meeting of the Whangaroa Hospital Board was held on December 14 when there were present: Messrs L. M. Lane (chairman). T. H. Hayes, E. F. Connolly, H. R. Leslie, C. Martin and F. C. Hows.
The approval of the Minister for Health was received for the purchase of the new hospital site from Mr T. E. Leslie, and the Public Trustee agreed to lend £SCO on a 30-year table loan at 3% per cent. Plans for the new hospital are being considered by the Health Department. The secretary was instructed to proceed with the raising of the necessary loan as soon as the approval is received. The water supply has been approved, the boat'd agreeing to instal a chlorination plant at the hospital. The Medical Officer of Health, Whangarei. asked support of the hoard for a scheme to provide specialist services for the northern hospital districts. Two representatives wen* appointed to attend a conference io consider Ihe question and work out a policy.
The balance sheet, which has just been returned from the Aulit Office, was adopted at a special meeting. It will shortly be printed for circulation.
