Whangaroa Comity Council The monthly meeting of the council was held on December 14. Present: Councillors T. H. Haves (chairman), L. M. Lane, E. F. Connolly. H. R. Leslie. C. Martin and F. C. Hows' The resolution passed on J„uly 31, re closing of the road between Weber's Access Road and the Pupuke Stream was rescinded. It was decided to make a claim against the Defence Department for special damage caused by manoeuvres on Ororoa Road (including bridge at. T. How’s), Martin’s Road and Takou Road: Mr D. B. Smythe was appointed dog tax collector for the year 1943. and the tax is to be 2/6 and 10/- per dog as previouslv. The foreman was instructed ro deal with the willows blocking the stream near the pound. The clerk was voted a small sum to improve the frontage of the council chambers. The balance sheet was considered and adopted at .a special meeting. It will soon be printed for circulation.
