WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
KAITAIA The Kailaia Women's Institute held its Christmas meeting on Wednesday. December 9, with the president (Mrs. Verschafi'elt) in the chair, when final arrangements were made for, the dance to be held on December 19, in aid of Blind Institute funds.
This month the soldier’s parcel went to relatives of Mrs. Powell and Mrs. Stephenson.
A very enjoyable playette was presented by Mr. and Mrs. Head and Mrs. King, three songs were sung by Mrs Head t'aecompaniste. Mrs. King) and an Irish jig was danced by Margaret Powell and Fav Turner. The flower competition was won by Mrs. Ha.v and the green pea competition by Mrs. Wilson. The gift competition was won by Mrs. Turner. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Collins and Mrs. Wilson.
