The North Auckland Farmers’ Co-op.. Ltd,, report that during the week competition has improved for all classes of dairy cattle and store cattle have also shown marked improvement. Store pigs are also selling exceptionally well. At Maungakaramea on Monday heifers sold to £7; smaller and.backward heifers, £4/15/- to £5/15/-; backward and unsound cows, £3/5/- to £5/15/-; boner cows sold from £2/10/- to £3/17/6; potter cows, £l/5/- (o £2/2/6; yearling Shorthorn steers, £3/6/-; boner bulls, £2 to £2/15/-. Wether hoggets, £l/1/9. Small store pigs, £l/17/-. At Towai on Monday we had quite a fair yarding, mostly dairy cattle and they sold as follows:—Good Jersey heifers, £6/7/6 to £6/12/6; smaller and more backward, £5/4/- to £5/15/-; dairy cows, best, £6 to £7/2/6; September calvers, £4/15/- to £5/12/6; fat cows, £6 to £6/5/-; fresh conditioned cows, £4/2/6 to £5/5/-: boner cows, £2/7/- to £3/10/-; 2 1 /a-year Shorthorn steers, £6/15/-; others, £5/12/6; yearling' Jersey heifers, £3/12/-; boner bulls, £2/3/- to £3. At Hukerenui on Tuesday we again had a good sale. Dairy cattle were again very dear and sold at a bit. better than late rates. At Kamo on Thursday a good yarding of store cattle came to hand and there was a keen demand throughout the sale. Social Evening A pleasant social evening was spent in the Presbyterian Church _Hall last night, when the members of the Girls’ Life Brigade entertained the Boys’ Brigade. Captain Joyce Placed welcomed the boys and was M.C. for the evening. During the supper the captain of the Boys’ Brigade (Mr. F. Moore) expressed thanks .to the girls and congratulated them on attaining the fifth birthday of the company.
