WELLINGTON, this Day.
The Postmaster-General (Mr Webb) announces that owing to heavy congestion on cables, private telegrams to the Middle East (including messages to the members of the Forces in Egypt, will be subjected to very considerable delay. In order to facilitate the transmission of important messages it is urged in the circumstances that private cablegrams to the Middle East should be restricted to those of extreme urgency.
