Jap-Russian Relations Continue Friendly
TOKIO, Dec. 23. The Japanese Cabinet spokesman (Mr Tomokazu) said yesterday that Japan was conducting friendly negotiations with Russia. The Tokio radio says three Soviet freighters in Hongkong harbour have been placed under Japanese protection, together with 42 members of the crews. The Sultan of Kenantan in northeast Malaya (Sir Ismail Almarhum) is stated to have returned to Kota Bharu with his staff of 500, and has placed | himself under Japanese protection.
