Denies Sinking Of Aircraft-Carrier
(Rec. 11 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 23. Official British sources deny that another aircraft carrier has been sunk | in the Atlantic. j The Berlin radio says a U-boat scored three direct hits. Two of the torJ pedoesi caused explosions amidships I and the third exploded in the stern. I The aircraft carrier, which was en route to Singapore, sank shortly after the attacks. British naval circles in London commenting on the Oerman claim to , have sunk an aircraft-carrier of the I Formidable class remarked that there I was no need to assume that this claim I was any more accurate than many ! previous similar German claims to have sunk British warships, including aircraft-carriers. None of the Brtish aircraft carriers has even been attacked.
