Female Employees At Westfield Cease Work

[Special to “Northern Advocate") AUCKLAND, This Day. Stating that they would not resume work until they received a 5/- increase in wages. 50 women and girls employed in measuring sausage casings at the Westfield Freezing Company's works did not resume work after the 10 o’clock spell this morning. Their wages range up to £3 weekly. An official of the firm said that no previous intimation of the employees’ demand had been received. The secretary of the Freezing Workers’ Union (Mr. Sill) loft for the works this afternoon.
