Medical Club Matters
Special general meetings of the Hikurangi and Kamo District Miners’ Medical Club and the Hikurangi District Medical Club respectively were held during the week-end. Mr. D. Jackson presided over an attendance of fifty-four members, and the following decisions were made: That the medical portion of Ihe Miners’ Club be discontinued, and that sick fund benefits and contributions continue as formerly. The meeting decided to make a refund equivalent to two months’ subscription to 38 members of the District Medical Club whose subscriptions are paid up to December 31 next. It was also resolved that in view of the introduction of the Social Security (General Medical Services) regulations, steps be taken to wind up the Hikurangi District Medical Club.
