One of the trucks was hit by a bomb and I was lying down on the road beside it when it was hit. I was covered with dust and debris and it shook me up a bit. f was given a tot o'f rum and was then O.K. "To see the parachute troops landing was a sight worth seeing,” wrote Sapper Unitt. "There were thousands of them hut not many escaped the bayonets. One dav a big formation of fighters came over and injured a number of soldiers round Suda Bay.”
