Men Wanted For Law And Order Section
The need for strengthening the Law and Order section of the E.P.S organisation in Whangarei was brought before the meeting of the executive of the organisation by the controller (Inspector Fox) at a meeting last night. Inspector Fox said that at the commencement of the organisation he had a section of 80 men, but this number had now been reduced to 30 Some have gone to the front, others had joined military units and many were in the Home Guard, He appealed to men who were eligible to join the section. Power To Call On Home Guard Although he had power to call upon men in the Home Guard to resign. from that ox-ganisation and linkup with the E.P.S., Inspector Fox said that he did not want to exercise this authority unless absolutely necessary, Such an action would not be popular with the Home Guard officers and men, concluded the Inspector.
