Democratic Labour Party Branch In Whangarei

Although a number of electors in Whangarei had joined the New Zealand Democratic Labour Party there has not, up till a shoft time ago been a branch in this district, but a branch has now been formed. Officers Elected A number of financial members of the party met lately and decided to form a branch in Whangarei, the following being elected officers : President, Mr. H. F. Downesj vice-presi-dent, Mr. W. Green; secretary, Mr. J. Mcßreen; treasurer, Mr. H. H. Boreham; executive, Messrs T.- Conaghan, C. Baker, J. Baker, Pegran, White, with officers. Since the meeting a healthy growth of the branch has been maintained. A social commitee has been formed and arrangements made for the holding of entertainments. A hall has been engaged for a period of twelve ihonths. Mr. Lee, M.P., To Speak An organiser has been appointed to further the movement in this district and, at the invitation of the branch, Mr. J. A. Lee, M.P., is to address a public meeting at Whangarei on June 3.
