Mrs. H. Olsen, of Whangarei, has received cabled advice .from LanceBcmbardier Donald Olsen that he is safe and well. Similar news has also been received from Gunner Frank Fades. Miss Gebbie was in Whangarei for the purpose of arranging courses of keep fit classes in connection with the W.W.S.A. She will conduct a public demonstration on Thursday, June 12, in which girls registered with the organisation will take part. Dr. D. W. Jolly (Cromwell), a specialist in surgery, is serving with the R.A.M.C. with the rank of major. He has been attached to a unit on the Kent coast for the last nine months. Recently he published “Field Surgery in Total ,War,” containing the results of his two years’ experience as chief of a surgical unit in the forward area in Spain with the Republican Army.
