N.Z. Shipping Coy. Acquires Three Ships
[Special to “Northern Advocate”] AUCKLAND, This Day.
The New Zealand Shipping Company, according to an overseas shipping journal, has acquired three laid-up steamers belonging to the United States Maritime Commission.
The ships are stated to be the Guimba, of 6100 tons, the Monasses, of 5983 tons, and the Coralia, of 5963 tons. The ships are three of 12 sold by the Maritime Commission for £2,779,000 to a group of British companies of which the New Zealand Shipping Company is one.
