Music, Mirth, Mystery On New Regent Programme
AMUSEMENTS
A show of music, mirth and mystery is an apt description for “You’ll Find Out,” one of the two feature films which opened on the new programme at the Regent Theatre last evening. Kay Kyser and his band supply the melody and the mirth while Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi are responsible for the mystery—the thrills and chills which intersperse the music. The story concerns the engagement of Kyser to play at an old family mansion and a series of attempts to kill the young heiress whose coming-of-age is being celebrated. To supply the background and hide the planned murder, spiritualistic seances are arranged by Lugosi with the assistance of Lorre and Karloff, but Kyser and his music intrude and supply the laughs which offset the chills, the whole providing first-class entertainment. The second feature is “Where’s That Fire,” with Will Hay starring as the hopelessly incompetent but extremely laugh-' able rustic fire captain who invents a chemical means of dealing with fire.
