Gaol For Fraud
[■Special to “Northern Advocate” - ] AUCKLAND, This Day. ‘‘You will be sentenced to six months’ imprisonment. This sort of thing must stop,” said the magistrate (Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.), sentencing Raymond John Holden, aged 46, single, in the Police Court today on two charges of making false statements to obtain sickness and unemployment benefits. Detective-Sergeant Nalder said that Holden declared his earnings were nil, while he was actually earning at times as much as £5 a week.
