Secondary School Boys For Farms

Applications by farmers in the Wellington Pro vince for secondaryschool boys during the holiday period did not come up to expectations. Ninety boys were eni’olled with the Youth Centre, but until today only 15 farmers had applied, and two of these each agreed to take two boys. At the eleventh hour a further application came in. the best received, six boys being required. This will bring the number to 23.
Four boys have gone to sheep farms, five to daii'y farms, and two to mixed farms.
It is known that 13 of the boys who enrolled have found other work which they were advised to do, while 54 unplaced boys remain on 'the roll
