WOMEN'S INSTITUTES
Onerahi
Mrs Hodgson presided over a particularly large and successful meeting, which took the form of a Christmas party, each member being a hostess and bringing a friend.
The roll-call, “Spell a given word of five letters backwards,” was well responded to. Interesting and varied items were given by some of the members and visitors.
Mrs Hodgson, on behalf of the Institute, presented Mrs Paris’s baby with a silver spoon. Rev. N. O. White gave a very interesting talk on some of his travels. Competition for best vase of flowers was won by Mr Stuart, with Mrs Stuart second and Mrs C. Whi'mp third.
Afternoon tea was served and the meeting closed with W.I. songs and “God Defend New Zealand.”
