Further Judging At Calf Club Parades
There was a good attendance of parents and a good parade of light and heavy breed calves and yearlings at ' Maromaku. A flower and vegetable show was staged by members of the Home Garden Club. Special prizes, donated by Mrs C. Callaghan, were won by Mervyn Going and Terry Callaghan. Calf judges were Mr and Mrs B. P. Hawken. Piesults:— Cup for best reared calf. —Edna Going and Maurice Callaghan equal 1. Cup for dairy type.—Norrpa Mason. Calf rearing.—Senior: Light breed, Maurice Callaghan 1, Norma Mason 2; heavy breed, Edna Going 1, Les Going 2. Junior: Light breed, Terry Callaghan 1, June Hildreth 2, Dulcie Webb 3; heavy breed, Mervyn Going 1, George Going and Melva Going equal 2. Dairy type.—Light breeds: Norma Mason 1, Terry Callaghan 2, Maurice Callaghan 3. Heavy breed: Melva Go-* ing 1, Edna Going 2, Mervyn Going 3. Best yearling.—Maurice Callaghan.
MARLOW SCHOOL. (Judges: Mr and Mrs B. P. Hawken.) Results: — Calf rearing—Senior: Monica Brock 1, Doreen Brock 2, Edna Brock 3. Junior: Neville Newbold 1, Jimmy Brock 2. Dairy type.—Monica Brock 1, Doreen Brock 2, Edna Brock 3.
RUAPEKAPEKA SCHOOL. (Judge: Mrs L. Hawken.) In conjunction with the calf club parade at Ruapekapeka a show of flowers and vegetables was staged by the members of the Home Garden Club. Results: — Calf rearing.—Senior: Walter Brydon 1, Ted Kehoe 2, Alma Girvin 3. Junior: Betty Timperley 1, Dick Girvi n 2. Dairy type.—Walter Brydon 1, Betty Timperley 2. Best yearling.—Ted Kehoe. Medals were awarded to Walter Brydon and Betty Timperley. Sweet Peas. Sweet peas, best bloom. —Ted Kehoe 1.
