R.A.F. 26 NAZIS 4 LONDON, August 15. It is officially stated that 2G German aeroplanes were destroyed in yesterday's fighting, namely, 14 bombers, three fighter-bombers and nine fighters.
Four British pilots were lost. The Air Ministry announces that further German air attacks were made on the South-West of England and on Wales late last night. A Royal Air Force aerodrome was attacked and there were some fatal casualties.
Enemy aeroplanes were over the North-West of England and the SouthEasi of Scotland early this morning. One enemy bomber was brought down in North-Eastern Scotland this morning.
The raider tried to machine-gun coastal batteries. 8 Bombs on Village.
Air fighting started again this afternoon.
Four out of 1(1 enemy machines, who tried to cross the South-East Coast are unofficially said to have been brought down by British fighters. A raider over the South-East of England dropped eight high-explosive bombs t>n a village. One blew out the front of a baker’s shop, another fell on the British Legion Club, a third fell on file roof of a garage, a fourth burst on a water main, and the remainder fell in fields and gardens. No serious damage was done anywhere.
