Emergency Labour Parley On Monday

In order to back up and assist the Government in its intensified war effort, an emergency conference of the Labour- Party will be held in Wellington next Monday. Representation will be on the same basis as the party’s Easter Conference. As a preliminary, the national executive of the party will meet tomorrow to discuss recent developments. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Hamilton) said today that he preferred not to comment on Mr Fraser’s war council proposal until he had discussed the matter with the Prime Minister. Failure to Account. —On 19 charges of failing to account for moneys. Alan Donald Park and Stephen Arthur Williamson were sentenced at Christchurch yesterday by Mr Justice Northcroft. Park was given 12 months, and Williamson 18 months’ reformative detention.
