t Special to “Northern Advocate ”] KAWAKAWA, This Day. Kawakaw.a residents are making a fine efi'ort at the present time to assist the local branch of the Red Cross Society. Although the house-to-house collection has not yet been commenced, a sum, in excess of £3O, has already been collected for this worthy cause. A Paddy’s Market on Saturday realised approximately £25. It is hoped by the executive in charge, to obtain £IOO by its appeal. On Sunday evening .a community sing was held at Moerewa and on Saturday night a large crowd attended a ’‘bob-hop” held at Kawakawa. A ball is to be held at Kawakawa in the near future and ,a picture evening and other evenings are to be held at Moerewa.
