Suggested War Cabinet
[Special to “Northern Advocate.”! PALMERSTON N.. This Day. A Palmerston North public committee has, through the Mayor (Mr A. E. Mansford) suggested to the Prime Minister the formation of a War Cabinet consisting of the Prime Minister, Mr Nash, Mr Semple, Mr J. G. Coates and Mr S. G. Holland. The committee considered Mr Fraser’s proposals too vague, with to'O many reservations, and advocated conscription of resources and manpower to ensure the maximum war effort at home and overseas. The Dominion executive of the Returned Soldiers’ Association has expressed satisfaction at the Government’s .assurance to introduce compulsory universal national service, civil, military and financial, for the purpose of prosecuting the war.
