Businessmen Urge National Government

Copyright'' j WELLINGTON, This Day. | A strong recommendation in favour !cf the formation of a National Gov- ! ernment was conveyed to th.e Government yesterday by a deputation from j the Associated Chambers of Comi merce. The deputation, which was headed by the president (Mr W. S. MacGibben) was received by the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) and the majority of the members of the Cabinet. The deputation was heard in private. An explanation of the measures the Government was taking, and which it proposed to take, was given by the Prime Minister, and a discussion ensued. An undertaking was given by Mr Fr.aser that consideration would be given by the Government to the views of the deputation.
