German Parachutists Hurdle Hollands blood Barriers
N etherlands Rejects Nazi Demand To Surrender Heavy Fighting At Aachen LONDON, May 9. TTOLLAND AND BELGIUM ARE STRONGLY RESISTING THE GERMAN INVASION WHICH WAS LAUNCHED EARLY THIS MORNING. Belgium ordered general mobilisation at 4.30 a.in. and a slate of alarm was announced and censorship instituted. There is tierce fighting at Aix, on the Belgian frontier. The Dutch have flooded large regions along the frontier, but the Germans hurdled this hairier, which was believed to be impregnable, with hundreds of parachute troops, some of whom were reported to be wearing British uniforms, and the others Dutch. Neither Holland nor Belgium was taken by surprise, for both count rios had been anticipating an attack.
