Thousand State Houses At West Tarnaki

[Special to “Northern Advocate .”] AUCKLAND, This Day. About 400 acres of rural land in the outer portions of West Tarnaki have been acquired by the Government for State housing purposes. It is believed that about a thousand houses will eventually be erected. The price of the land is stated to be about £50,000. The area is from seven to eight miles from the Auckland Chief Post Office, and roading, drainage and water supply and other amenities will have to be carried out before the scheme can be launched. The scheme, when put into effect, will be next in importance only to the Orakei scheme.
