Brigade Chases Fire Through Streets
City firemen had to chase a fire through the streets of East Melbourne to put it out. With the Collingwood Brigade, the City firemen were called to a fire in a garage in East Melbourne. Collingwood firemen were first on the scene, and soon had the fire under control. As soon as the fire started, a man rushed into the garage and drove his car out, unaware that the back of it was burning. He drove on, with the City Brigade giving chase. They found him parked some distance away, vainly trying to check the flames. The car was badly burnt before the fire was put out.
