A French War Ministry spokesman said that the departure of several German troopships from the eastern shores of the Baltic had increased fears of an invasion of Sweden. It is not known whether they are bound for Sweden or are taking reinforcements to Norway. The spokesman added that Allied warships were closely patrolling the Skagerrak.
